We are a full service small animal clinic, offering compassionate, professional care of your cherished pets. We are also proud to be in association with Dr. LuJean Waters for all your large/food animal and equine needs. Our clinic was founded in 1974 by Dr. N.L. Black, a Fort Meade native. In 2010, Dr. Black happily got the chance to retire, and the clinic was purchased by Dr. Lori J. Shank and her husband, Brian Ackley.

We are a country veterinary clinic with modern day conveniences! We feature digital x-ray and expanded in-house labratory services which makes diagnostics quick and convenient. In addition our clinic offers our clients full access to their pet’s records 24/7, 365 days a year through our online ePetHealth service and a full online pharmacy making it convenient to have medications and preventions delivered to your door.

To serve you best, we are open six days a week for your convenience. If you can’t make it during your normal work day, we are now open until 7 p.m. on Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, in addition to our normal weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your pets. At Fort Meade Animal Clinic, we will strive to not simply meet expectations, but exceed them, through integrity, compassion, respect and appreciation for our clients, our staff and our community. Our clients and patients are the heart of our practice and the reasons we are here.
Julie Benson has sacrificed so much to save homeless and helpless animals, and now the tables have turned; she is now the one who needs saving.Julie was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carinoma last month and in an instant, her life has changed. Her treatment is to begin immeditately – she is scheduled for a double mastectomy with reconstruction, beginning October 14, 2015. The removal/reconstruction will be a 4-phase process over a period of 6-9 months. Chemo/radiation duration is still TBD.  Co-pays, deductibles, uncovered procedures and other out-of-pocket expenses are expected to exceed $20,000. Please consider helping “A Villager” fight this battle so she can stand to fight another day to save the voiceless. #PinkPaws4JB
